Royal Food Court was established with an objective of bringing authentic cuisine from Hyderabad Deccan, India to the connoisseurs of Naperville IL, in an affordable way giving optimum value for money. Its founder Wasif Quadri has his roots in Hyderabad, India. Over a period of time, other Indian cuisines from Andhra Region of Southern India and snacks (Savory and Sweet) from other regions of the sub-continent were added to the menu.

Hyderabad Cuisine: An Introduction

Hyderabadi cuisine (native: Hyderabadi Ghizaayat), also known as Deccani cuisine, is the native cooking style of the Hyderabad, a city that came into existence 425 years ago on the banks of River Musi. It is currently the capital city of the Telangana State in India.

Brief History

The haute cuisine of Hyderabad began to develop after the foundation of the Bahmani Sultanate, and the Qutb Shahi dynasty centered in the city of Hyderabad. The rulers of these dynasties who originated from Turkey and central Asia promoted the native cuisine along with their own resulting in a fusion that is a delight to the pallet. Hyderabadi cuisine had become a princely legacy under the patronage the Asaf Jahi Dynasty (Ruled by rulers under the title of Nizams) that last of royalty to rule Hyderabad State before its merger in to the Union of India.

This Cuisine is an amalgamation of South Asian, Mughalai, Turkish, and Arabic flovors along with the influence of local Telangana and Marathwada cuisines. Hyderabadi cuisine comprises a broad repertoire of rice, wheat, and meat dishes and the skilled use of various spices, herbs and naturally flavored edibles.
